School Philosophy

Our school is trying to be more than just another “Cage Fighting” school.  Tons of people come through our school in hopes of stepping into the cage and beating someone to a pulp.  They have no idea of the dedication, self-discipline and time needed to develop the skills necessary to compete in such an intricate sport.  I find that this mentality has taken the Martial Arts out of Mixed Martial Arts.  People seem to have forgotten what Martial Arts is suppose to do for people.  It’s not just about teaching people deadly techniques to take out any adversary, but it is much more than that.  It is meant to give you something positive to focus on.  It’s supposed to help you make good decisions in all areas of your life.  It should give you a reason to eat healthy and take care of your body.  It should give you a reason to not smoke or do drugs.  Martial arts for me have been my savior.  I could have easily gone down the wrong path in my younger years but Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in particular has changed my life for the good.  It puts me in the right direction and helps me make decisions that will better my life and the people around me.  Remember, Martial arts such as life is not the destination but rather the journey.  I hope you all join me in this journey.
